Movie: Anak starring Vilma Santos and Claudine Barreto. This Filipino movie is about a rebellious daughter that hates her mother so much since her mother is an OFW and she is not with them during their growth. This movie is very spectacular and we can learn many lessons in this movie. It really describes the Filipino family today.

We decided to include this because in every Filipino home, there is one, just like the rice cooker. Some may have air conditioners but still they have an electric fan. It’s some sort of a staple in the Filipino home. Since we live in a tropical country, this helps us to be refreshed. right?
An electric fan cools us down and helps us stand the heat of our country. Since we are also experiencing climate change, the electric fan is a good way to reduce them, since it gives some sort of natural air unlike most air conditioners who give out CFCs.
We may have air conditioners, but there's nothing like an electric fan switched to 'number 3'. :)

This is a family-oriented film that deals with how the Filipinos cope when a family member dies. How Filipinos react. It is a tragic comedy film which is common to the Filipinos since we are more of those who enjoy drama with a little bit of laughter aside. This movie shows several superstitions in which some of us still believe. Superstitions are widely known to us since our grandmothers, grandfathers and other relatives still follow them. This really signifies the culture of Filipinos.
Directed by Soxie H. Topacio, this is a great thing to have in our time capsule and worth a two thumbs up.
Superstitions like "do not bathe when there's a burial", "do not wear red when there's a burial", "Do not let a tear drop in the coffin" and a lot more.
This truly symbolizes the Filipino family, well not all but most, because we Filipinos are superstitious, family-oriented and Filipinos can't afford to lose someone so dear to them. The movie shows several things done in a burial, like playing cards to pass the time and offering food to those who attend the burial. A true Filipino act.
Here's the official trailer of the movie: Enjoy :)
